The course has a strong practical focus supported by key theoretical aspects. It is ideal for gaining a craft level qualification if have an interest in trees and woodlands.

You will be assessed by a range of methods including multiple choice exams, practical assessments, written assignments, presentations and projects.
On successful completion of the Level 2 qualification, you could progress on to a Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Forestry & Arboriculture, Level 2 or Level 3 Apprenticeship. Alternatively you could find full-time employment with arboriculture contracting companies, local authorities, private parks and gardens, the Forestry Commission or National Trust. Opportunities also exist to undertake tree work across the globe.

Attendance Requirements | Your study programme is 16 hours per week over 36 weeks. On average, you should be spending six to eight hours per week undertaking self-directed study. We recommend you spend one day per week completing your mandatory 150 hours of work experience. |

The tutors continually encourage us to achieve to the best of our ability and potential. For example, in our practical tree work sessions there are some pretty tough challenges, but the teaching team gives me a huge amount of confidence.
